This session is the first of a two-part series designed to equip level-of-care staff with a fundamental understanding of psychotropic medications. Participants will explore how these medications interact with the body and the specific disease states they are intended to treat. The discussion will provide a detailed overview of key medication classes, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and benzodiazepines. This foundational webinar prepares attendees for Part 2, which will focus on managing and identifying medication side effects.

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. APA maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive up to 1.00 clinical continuing education credits.
