Description
Measurement-based care (MBC) is a clinical strategy involving regular symptom measurement and assessment, and using those finding to inform clinical decision-making. MBC is effective and commonly used in treatment of individuals with major depression, though less is known about use of MBC in treatment of individuals with bipolar disorder. This webinar will review MBC principles, specific measures for potential use in bipolar disorder care, and strategies for MBC in bipolar disorder.

How to Earn Credit

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, American Psychiatric Association (APA) is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. - Joseph Cerimele, MD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Grand Rounds at University of Washington School of Medicine. His current clinical work includes consulting to a primary care clinic utilizing a collaborative care model and attending on the inpatient psychiatry unit and the inpatient psychiatry consultation service at UWMC. His primary interests include improving recognition and quality of care of patients with psychiatric illnesses seen in primary care clinics. His current research in primary care focuses on the care of individuals with bipolar disorder.
